Think you’ll be lucky with that one, the last two I’ve sold have nearly topped £100 Even the locking ones Nos are in the £60 range now due to people nicking the std caps at shows.

You know I would have guess wrong if I saw those two, the red one looks more rounded Mk1 whereas the Grey one looks more squarish Mk2.

I vaguely remember posting images of my one before as soon as you said it doesn't match either of yours. Its been a while but I vaguely remember it was off a Mk2. It has Fords part number so it most likely is an Australian made part for our 75/76 Mk2s before we switched to rear filling drop tanks. It looks close your Mk1 version though.

Here is the Mk2 fuel cap I sold some time ago. (and bought a small island of the earnings 😀 ). There are more versions than these but this is the one for the cap that comes flush with the rearpanel (no protruding filler).

iirc the mk2 is a lighter weight cap, but both should be interchangeable

the tank on non protruding mk1 should be the same as the mk2 iirc

but auusie spec might be differen as their upside down

Yep! That right there.
I've got the non locking one painted the same colour as the painted stripe, but swap it over for a locking one when parked up at a show where some light fingered **** might nick it.😡

It makes you Paranoid doesn't it.

I have even checked my car for magnet trackers after CF show one year.

I did that a few months ago after a trip to the reservoir to walk the dog, when i walk back to the car and find a pair of legs sticking out from under it in the carpark. With no other cars anywhere close he parks his van right beside mine to shield everyones view. I am a little paranoid about things like that. He did get a fright though. Just looking he says, yeah right!

I have a in boot alloy tank and so my cap is to just fill the hole but once caught a lad with it in his hand at the Pod, no reason except wanted to see how it worked..... its now bolted from inside so wont even come off with a pair of stilsons 🤬

I also own a vintage Bullnose Morris that is covered in rare shiney bits that i just wont let out of my sight as sadly there are to many sticky fingered enthusiasts at meets and shows...
