Vista Estate Posted July 7 Report Posted July 7 On 05/07/2026 at 15:26, Vista said: Update from James today. He's still in hospital and as well as the speech issues he describes, he has lost the use of one arm and is very worried he won't be allowed to drive again. "Hey everyone! Things are slow improving here typing this to you with my thumb and a dumbphone. My speech is still a bit slurred but when i first arrived they asked if i was Irish but now that as therapy I have to over articulate my speech and now think im from England now! (shocked when i tell them in the hospital I was born in!) I've spilt apple juice then chocolate pudding on my gown and now it looks like i pissed and shat myself!" I see he still has a great sense of humour. The mess on his gown is common for someone his age so nothing to worry about 🤣🤣 Get well soon James (you've got some parts to fit). 1 1
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted July 9 Moderator Report Posted July 9 Hey Everyone! I am home! Thanks for all your kind words it means so very much. Hard here at home, cant type very well or for long. Thanks to you all. 2 1
Miniliteman Posted July 9 Report Posted July 9 Good to hear you are at home! My dad had a similar event many years ago, he did recover from it, could drive the car again but it took some time. Keep in touch.
Johnny Boy Posted July 9 Report Posted July 9 Glad to here you are back home now James. My best wishes to you 1
Nige65 Posted July 9 Report Posted July 9 Glad that you’re back home now, see recovery as a challenge and take it one small step at a time, there will be good days and bad days along the way but we are all here if you need to get anything off your chest. Keep the chin up cobber and keep us updated 👍 1
accord83 Posted July 10 Report Posted July 10 Great news James, @Rally Pack 2000 Life will be challenging and tiring for a while, but that's just living in the colonies🤭. Take it easy, listen to your body and the professionals, don't rush the early days. Practise your signature, I'll be sending Bogan Transport around to take the old scrappers off you hands, so you'll need to sign the Rego over to me. Cheers John. 1
Dave Knight Posted Saturday at 23:40 Report Posted Saturday at 23:40 Welcome back James, albeit on low battery. Slow and steady wins the race. Keep those porn mags away, I mean Burton Power ones, et al.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted 8 hours ago Moderator Report Posted 8 hours ago Had my first therapy session today. Two separate ones , for speech and OT. I hope to overcome my slurry speech and no longer sound like an imbecile. I thought that goal would be helpful when posting here but they told me that unfortunately I will still sound an imbecile when I write you all as nothing can be changed there. The physical tasks to day included threading beads so put your order in for necklaces. The theropist asked why I was focusing on the bolt tightening and undoing exercises!
Jerrytom161 Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Priorities !!!….. i like your thinking … man after my own heart . Bolt tightening / loosening exercises are most important of course . 👍🏻👍🏻 then the raising and lowering of the elbow to enable drinking …🍺🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🥃🍷🍷🍷
