good news, the club has been offered a stand at the NEC again this year, and Kellye has sent the acceptance e-mail, the stand will have 4 cars this year, which the spaces are all spoken for already unfortunately, and not one 1300E will be seen on there this year But the good news is, if you want to see a 1300E, the 1300E owners club have a stand opposite the old skool ford one, where you will find 5 1300E's, and Nick Heers purple one will be on the AVO stand across the hall, the 1300E celebrating its 50th year and the owners club its 40th year all will be in hall 8, which seems to be referred to as the Ford hall these days, and neareer the time a discount code for tickets will be posted in the OSF CULT CLUB HOUSE for the cult members to take advantage of its a good show to visit, so cult members please take advantage of the discount code when its posted, the code unfortunately does only apply to single day visits and not 2-3 day entrance tickets, as they do already discount those hope to see you all there this year

gets very busy down there, the beige is sahara beige, and that particular one is quite famous, and the metallic green one is onyx green purple velvet was the launch colour, then followed by amber gold and venetian gold, and the series one was only made in those 3 colours, purple being the most popular, and only around 5000 series one were made, production started in dec 72 for a 1st march 73 launch, but ceased production in October 73, to make way for the series 2, at that point it was available in most of the colours, but the 2 golds were dropped, and series 2 was also the later body shell

the guy that runs the sporting escort owners club, Geoff Lane, used to make repro to order, not sure ifhe still does or the cost either, but imho it still needed re veneering to look anything like original originally all the dash pieces were veneered in american cherry, except the glove box wich could have either been american cherry or walnut, whatever they had to hand, and were originally RS/MEX, the along came the 1300E, and they made door cappings to go with it, these were not veneered, and were 1300E specific early wood appears to be of a light stain, almost golden in colour, but by November 73, this had changed to a very much darker shade

well going by tfl checker, and a few other online checkers, neither mine or nicks are exempt whilst other info says they should be, its vague, but im not likely to take mine into that situation, so i wont loose any sleep over it
-
hard to get, very expensive in crap condition and very expensive to have restored properly badly stored and the inner protective paint worn off, the glove boxes warp
-
ive just checked on the TFL web site, and none of my 3 classic cars are either ULEZ or congestion charge exempt, and i had read somewhere about 6 months ago that london residents were selling their classics for that very reason, but as to how true it all is i dont know, just something i read online

Classic Parts Shack - Anyone dealt with them recently?
Ray replied to Rally Pack 2000's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
i stopped trying to buy from them years ago, everytime i placed an order and paid for it, they cancelled the order and returned my money but have to say, i never lost my money, just appeared they were trying to sell stuff they never had -
the red dual bulkead plugs with one being red, were used on Capris, but may not be limited to just that, as i bought a couple of capri looms for parts (connectors) with the dual plug one red
-
very hard to find them these days, you will need to make your own from using the door pillar bungs, the round ones that go in the square holes, there are repro ones of these knocking around but the rubber on genuine is far stronger
