Hello all,

after lurking for some time decided to register on OSF.

My name is Leon and live in the Netherlands. Many moons ago we had an Escort RS Club (Mk1 and Mk2) but that has ceased to exist. We (my mate Aad, his car is on the Minilite Retards Club page, and myself) organised the RSOC European Event in Baarlo (speedwaytrack) in 1992-1994 and the Classic Ford Event in Venlo 2010-2014. See vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofqak2kuWsc

For over 25 years I own a Mk2 RS. Car is a '79 RS2000 restored/rebuild with Roger Clark's Manx 1981 MCD car in mind.
Strengthened shell, Safety Devices rollcage, homemade loom, FIA kill-switch, battery in boot.
OMP seats, Sabelt harness, alloy 45 litre fuel tank, twin Facet pumps.
Leda struts with Koni inserts, tensionstruts with 5/8" Gartrac ARB, rollertopmounts, WCXM, quick rack.
Single leaf springs, Bilsteins, 4.1 diff with ZF LSD.
Mag Minilites (8Jx13 and 9Jx13 for the road, up to 11.5Jx13 for sprints/slalom)
All steel BDE spec engine, 1790 cc, twin 45's, Tony Law exhaust, Lumenition ignition, Quaife SCCR gearbox, Tilton clutch.

Regards, Leon.

Welcome to Old Skool Ford 👍

We have quite a few members from the Netherlands, sadly the change of venue for Classic Ford Show a few years ago, followed by the Covid crisis, has meant that we haven't seen @JP.and crew for quite some time now.

Hi Leon, good to see you registered and can confirm your instrument VR is working well.

Hello SIR !

Don't forget the Brexit Vista, visiting the UK and also buying or selling parts from/to the UK has become much more difficult. Parts from the UK have become 30% more expensive.

The 'old' BDE did 177 bhp on the engine dyno. I changed to a 4-bolt head 2 years ago with a bit wilder inlet cam (L1).

Visiting the UK for tourism reasons is exactly the same as it was before, it's just not so straight forward if you want to work here. And the parts themselves haven't become any more expensive, it's the tariffs and taxes European governments are applying that have added to your costs (though I appreciate the net effect is the same).
