RP, the repro heater matrixes you refer to are absolute junk tbh, i bought one a few years back, wrong physical size, incorect fpi and fluid channels, they basically hold half the amount of fluid a ford one does, i replaced that for a genuine ford NOS one in the end, what Dave aka jerrytom is after is a NOS genuine ford one, as most of the used ones usually leak, dave pressure tests them and most if not all hes bought have been leakers

Ray is correct the aftermarket ones are junk .  I have a guy who recores radiators and hopefully he may be able to make one good heater matrix   out of the 6 spare Ford ones i have All with their own leaks and issues in different places within them  . I will keep you informed how i get on . 🤞🤞. But in the meantime the hunt goes on for a ........ sensibly priced  ...NOS one obviously not from oz at this moment in time !!

There was a new guy claiming they made them in the UK and were not the cheap alloy replacements. I just looked though and only see the Mk2 versions listed at the moment so hopefully he will list them again. But he did make a point of mentioned they were of high quality and locally produced.

Its cheap compared to the earlier Cheese type ones. There is however a replica of this later version you can get for a reasonable 45 pounds. It just has a different brand logo embossed on it.

I suspect that's just to discourage people from bidding whilst he gets hold of replacement stock. It saves him another listing fee. If you look at the four sold, they're at just under £24.00 each

I'd still pay that than buy a FirstLine one! Maybe he knows it too! LOL

He is still showing 8 left in stock but what you say seems to be the norm. Im out of pocket 350 quid currently because the seller didn't have a clock I ordered and he cannot refund my money because I didn't pay in GBP. He didn't take the auction listing down though just doubled the price and hopes that will deter anyone else from buying. The fact that people cant ever get their money back from him using overseas Ebay seems inconsequential.

With regards to Cols post, I have used that guys cables as they also have metal ends rather than the usual plastic. The series of FirstLine ones I tried were totally under-sprung but this guy with the metal ended ones seem closer to original Ford. They were double the price of the FirstLine ones but definitely not that expensive. I though about 45 quid or so. I would only use his or Ford ones from now on.

I always say anyone can ask hollywood style money for their ask, getting it is another matter. That's why I look at "sold listings" on ebay. Like this one:

Wow 730 quid for an old weathered one! What on earth would a brand new original fetch then?

I thought my old original one was worthless so I use it as a car door stand so the lip of my spare doors arent taking the weight on the concrete and its supported by the underside! Now its worth more than the doors its supporting! (Its been totally ruined now!)

I won’t be needing them, can’t see me driving abroad 😉

Yes they do all seem to be LHD. Still yet to compare how much it throws the beem off? Always been curious about that?

But that price is mainly for the box. I bought mine a couple of years back and they have the actual Ford symbol on them not just the oval where the word Ford is meant to be embossed. Im guessing they had to stop putting the word Ford on them for later OEM manufacturing. Even with that I only paid a quarter of what that guy is asking as mine just came in plain brown boxes! So its not just Ford there really is a Blue Box Tax!

I'm always on the look out for a MK1 spare indicator stalk, for that just in case mine packs up moment, but even these seem to make silly money, dont want to pay a fortune for a used item to sit on the shelf.

I see that MST and Burtons make reproduction ones for the MK2, but none for the MK1

Genuine Ford or feeding the kids this month, simple choice?

@Ray There you go Ray a thousand quid for a set of Mk1 seat rest pads. That would be annual costs though cause they only last a year before they break! LOL

Seller must be family of your friend Justin 😉

While not him it does seem he has an apprentice!

Just as a guide though thats two and half times more than I paid for my completely running and road registered Twincam at the time!

Jeez!! I've a set of 140mph clocks in storage

At least if I sold them for that I could afford to turn a light bulb on for about 2 hours at the moment 🤣
