Very nice!

Are the wheels anything special?

Magnesium minilites?

Ive a mate with a deep seated hatred for minilites (no idea why) which has sort of stopped me buying a set for mine

I dont think they are anything special just a generic minilite styled thing. Most fit the Australian Superlite as its readily available off the shelf.

I dont dislike Minilites as such but its more everyone fits them to Escorts especially Mk1s so I wanted something different for mine. Given that Mk1 RS 4 Spokes are rare here and that Marcel from the forum found a set for me that's what I was going with. I haven't been able t afford to have them restored yet though

Behave with your porn, I'm going to have to give that a long hard thinking about......

It doesn't qualify as an actual car but my other Twincam which is just a shell is actually red. (Swapped for a set of AP Calipers and Disks)

Red Ones are very nice but still Orange ones have them beat you must admit?

Wish you would stop floating all these twin cams in front of me !! It’s tempting me to get one 😍😍😍

I have been following prices for another thread and they are cheaper than Mexicos of the same condition these days, That includes British Twincams as well and the Australian ones are cheaper still.

The photo doesn't do it justice but the few Blue ones I saw they were always stunning too.

I would have a twin cam in any colour even pink or turd brown

Your in luck! Turd Brown was one of the original colour options. This one went to the UK even.

There was a metallic pink option for Mk1 Escorts here but I have never seen a Twincam in that colour. I have seen, driven and repaired the Wild Violet (Metallic Purple) one that's been posted in the Australian Twincam thread.

One of the rarest of Australian Escorts of which only 400 were built. Given I have driven 16 Twincams in my life yet I have NEVER seen one of these in real life with its full livery. I dare say many removed the bold striping so I may have passed one without noticing or that they were never prized as rare and most were destroyed.

The Mk2 Escort Escapee...... (No convict jokes please)

  • 8 months later...

Before it was decided to run with the European Fiesta design in the USA using the project codename "Bobcat", the Americans had their own. Codename "Wolf"

But it didnt quite get there in the looks department so they switched to consider prototypes from the Euro Bobcat project instead. It was still slightly different to what the Americans were used too though compared to their Continental Town Cars.

How's this for rare?

Robbed it off Faceache (so I guess it is good for something)

1963 Ford Cortina Ogle GT Coupé, of  which only two were ever built by Ogle. This is one is now in the Philippines and once belonged to Stirling Moss. It is unique in that it was a 4-Seater instead of seating 5.

*Ogle Cortina GT, 1964. Commissioned by Stirling Moss (pictured with the car in the last picture) who wanted a 4-seat GT Coupé based on proven components. The car was presented by Stirling Moss at the Earls Court Motor Show. Two were built by Harold Radford Coachbuilders based on Ogle’s designs but plans for a limited production run came to nought.

And the post from Brian Oinks on Faceache

"I thought I would share this very special Car with you all. I found these old pictures in one of my Folders here, so I thought I would throw them up here. You cannot find these online (well, until everyone else shares them now) as they were shared by a close friend of the Family who ended up Custodians of this rare machine after their Father passed away. Their Father was a well known Filipino Racer and bought this from Stirling Moss and had it shipped to the Philippines.

He raced it regularly at the Clark Track in Manila until he retired it, where it sat under cover until it was eventually rediscovered and verified to be indeed Stirling Moss' old Ogle GT Coupe."

Oh and the final picture is feedback given on Twitter when I posted a tweet about the car.
